Frequently Asked Questions

Is the EIN real?

No. The generated numbers follow the IRS digit format but are synthetic and not registered with the IRS. They cannot be used to file taxes or open a real business bank account.

What format is the EIN?

The standard US format: two prefix digits, a hyphen, then seven body digits (e.g. 12-3456789).

Will the EINs pass form validation?

They pass basic format validation (regex ^\d{2}-\d{7}$) but will always fail any real IRS lookup or downstream verification.

Are the EINs unique?

Within a single batch, we attempt to keep them unique. For thousands of values some duplicates are statistically possible due to the 9-digit space.
