About Vic Hub
Last updated: July 2026
The short version
Vic Hub is an independent developer project that ships free, privacy-first online tools and lifestyle apps. Every tool runs without a login; most run entirely in your browser. We don't sell your data, because we don't collect it in the first place.
How it started
Vic Hub began in 2023 with a single frustration: splitting a classroom into fair teams by hand. The first project, Team Splitter, was a 200-line script written for a single class — then opened up free after other teachers started asking for the URL.
That pattern repeated. Each subsequent project answered a question an actual person asked: "Can you just format this JSON without me signing up?" (ToolBox); "Do you have a QR generator that doesn't track me?" (QR Generator); "How do I split my year-end bonus across months for tax?" (TaxCalc Pro). Vic Hub grew by responding to real needs, not by chasing search trends.
What we build
We ship two kinds of tools: utilities that almost everyone needs sometimes, and lifestyle apps that interest a specific audience deeply. Each one solves a real problem we've hit ourselves or been asked to solve.
- Team Splitter — Random grouping & balanced team allocation for classrooms, sports days, and team building. Supports three languages and handles fixed pairs, separations, and unequal team sizes.
- ToolBox — 13+ developer utilities — JSON formatter, Base64, Hash calculator, password generator, color converter, JSON formatter — all running client-side, no server round-trip.
- Women's Health — Cycle tracking, fertility windows, and wellness reference tools. General education only — never a substitute for a clinician; see our disclaimer page.
- Number Fortune — A digital fortune-telling tool purely for entertainment — number test, daily fortune, zodiac, numerology. Clearly labelled entertainment, not predictive.
- TaxCalc Pro — Tax estimation across seven regions — income tax, VAT/GST, mortgage, payroll, bonus optimization. Reference calculations; verify against a qualified accountant before filing.
- QR Generator — Custom-color custom-size QR codes, generated entirely in your browser.
- Watermark — Online image watermarking for protecting creative work.
- Drunk Tonight? — A Cantonese-language social app for tracking tonight's drinks, finding nearby liquor stores, and syncing with friends — strictly for users of legal drinking age.
- Canton — Cantonese culture projects exploring Lingnan heritage.
Our mission
Make the small tasks of daily life faster, fairer, and more private — without demanding anything in return. We measure success by how many people use our tools frictionlessly, not by how many accounts we can sign up.
What we won't do
- We won't add a login wall to tools that don't need one (read why in our blog post on the subject).
- We won't sell or share identifiable user data with third parties.
- We won't stuff tools with intrusive ads — ads stay at the page level only, never inside the tool UI.
- We won't mark entertainment tools (like Number Fortune) as predictive, or health calculators as medical advice. Each carries a disclaimer appropriate to its category.
Values
- Privacy by default. Most tools do work in your browser — your data stays on your device.
- Free forever. Every tool has a free tier that's genuinely useful.
- Multilingual. We support English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese across our sites — Cantonese too where it makes sense.
- Responsive to users. The roadmap follows real requests — if you email us a feature, you may see it shipped.
- Honest about scope. We label what's entertainment as entertainment, what's a reference calculator as a reference, and what's medical as "see a doctor."
How we fund this
Operating costs are covered by a single tasteful Google AdSense slot on each site — never tool-internal ads, never pop-ups, never interstitials. Number Fortune and Drunk Tonight? use the same funding model and have an explicit earnings disclaimer on the relevant project page.
Funding & affiliate disclosure
BestLink contains Fiverr affiliate links. We may earn a commission when readers purchase through them, at no extra cost to the reader. We're upfront about it. Full details on our disclaimer page.
